CHRONOLOGY

Chronologie


1961 Born in Oran Algeria from French, Spanish, Prussian and Maltese background.

1975    Move to Tunisia at 14 and learns to print in the darkroom with Mr Paoletti, the gym teacher of the French school in Sfax. Shoot and print first works: portraits of horses at Club Wasa.

Renee Combes, Anyes' mother purchases the CANON AE1 which Anyes will use for 25 years.

1977        Move to Troyes, France to finish the lycée at Marie de Champagne. Pass Baccalaureat “C” with Math/ physics major with Honors. Still printing in darkroom at school during lunches. Portraits mostly.

1980         Accepted to ESSEC, a French “Grande Ecole” of business and move to Cergy Pontoise, 30 mn north of Paris. Shot the ISDT, International Six Days of motocross in Issoires France. Get photo published in German newspaper.

1981-1982    Spend one year in San Francisco. 20th Birthday.  Shoot the gay parade in June 1981

1982-1984    Back to Cergy/ France to finish degree. Solo Show of the gay parade at ESSEC Gallery. Become President of Photo Club. Design new darkroom.

1984    Return to USA via one month in Mexico visiting ancient indian sacred sites. Work in Fashion design /marketing in  Haight Ashbury with Karron Rolph.

1985    Start studies at Community College of San Francisco in the Photography program. Greatly improve understanding of light, printing technique and quality of work.

1987    Married in San Francisco to David Luker. Work on portfolio of portraits of artists in Hunter’s Point artist community with 6x6 roleiflex. Printing large format photographs.

1989    Photo-stylist for Emporium commercial photography studios, setting up fashion and housewares shots. Architecture portfolio for Paul Chow. Work in large format 4x5 Calumet cameras on a transparency portfolio of whimsical cuisine and interiors. Start work on Pear series.

1991    Birth of first son, Oliver in San Francisco. Turn 30. Start to work with a small MAC/Apple Computer.

1992        Move to France and start working for Christian Dior as head of International Merchandising, in charge of retail image: Architecture, display and graphics world wide. Travel to Asia, Mexico, USA. Work on retail stores in Japan, London, France, Italy, Thailand, Mexico, Indonesia, Singapore. Shoot interiors of stores and displays. Attend numerous fashion shows and helped with the research for a new architecture/ display concept.

1994    Work for Bally and ESCADA as head of merchandising. Shoot catalog of accessories for ESCADA.

1996    “Libido over credo” series shot during Summer. Move to Denver, Colorado in September.

1997    Divorce. Work as travel agent in Denver, preparing future travels.

1998    Marry Michael Adams on Lake Champlain NY. Move to Stamford Connecticut. Travel to Bermuda.

1999    Move to Breckenridge, Colorado. Altitude 9600ft a ski resort in Rocky mountains. Start printing the “Libido over Credo” series at CMC and shooting nudes in studio and around the Blue River. Take classes at CMC (Colorado Mountain College).

2001    Turn 40. Birth of Mirabelle 15 days later. VP of the Summit County Arts Council (SCAC)

2002    Travel to Greece and Italy. Inspired by Greek Mythology and sculpture collection of the Vatican Museum.

2003    Group show: “The nude in Art” at Emile Nelson Gallery in Denver. Travel to Egypt and shoot the Egyptian Portfolio.  In charge of judging of the International Snow Sculpture Competition in Breckenridge.

2004    Group show “the Nude in Art 2004” Become President of the SCAC. Opening of Arts Alive, Interactive Gallery in Breckenridge.

2005    First Tennis title in Steamboat Springs 3.5 singles tournament. Move to Great Guana Cay, ABACO Bahamas. Summer and Fall travels to Paris, Rome, Pompei, Venice, Florence. Best of Show Photography of First Fall Juried Art Show at Art Alive.

2006    Start work on new series of Bahamian mythology with Mexican-indian model Ili. Show at Conch Pearl Gallery in Marsh Harbour opens in June. Spend summer on Lake Champlain and Fall season in South of France. Travel to Montreal, Marseille, Montpellier, Geneva, London, Amsterdam, Colorado. Learn Tango dancing. 

2007   Become president of the Abaco Art Guild. Travel to N. Eleuthera,  Nassau, Loire valley in France, South Florida, Colorado. Shoot diver, climber, sailboat images. Get involved with "Friends of the Environment" marine committee.

2008     Opening of Artfusion gallery group show "Embracing the World" in the design district of Miami. Show runs from January to March. Prepare for new show at Conch Pearl Gallery in Marsh Harbour, Abaco.

2010 Move from the Bahamas to London. Working on a new portfolio for PhotoFest portfolio review in Paris in November. "Elementals". 

2011       London. Publish a book of mixed images on Blurb.com: COMPOSITIONS
