My images are often shot on location in dramatic natural settings, usually near a body of water: a river, ocean or a lake. Others are taken in ancient monuments: cathedrals, mosques, Egyptian temples or Venician Palazzos The nudes are mostly done in the studio, with bold dramatic lighting. Images are then combined in the darkroom or digitally, to create my original surrealistic visions.
Mes images sont souvent prises à l’exterieur dans des endroits forts près de cours d’eau, rivière, ocean ou lac. D’autres sont prises dans des monuments ancients: cathédrales, mosques, temples Egyptiens, palais Véniciens. Les nus sont généralement pris en studio avec un éclairage très contrasté. Les images sont ensuite combinées en chambre noire ou digitalement pour creer les compositions surrealistes qui composent ma vision. |

ART FUSION SHOW. April 12th Opening Miami.
I will be attending the opening of the group show " Spectrum of Reincarnation" at Art Fusion Gallery in the Miami Design District.
I will be showing works from Egypt in large format (20x30) printed by Chromatek Lab and mounted on Cintra and Plexiglass, a very contemporary look for an urban setting. www.Artfusiongallery.com. Work will be on display for 3months.

CONCH PEARL GALLERY SHOW: Bohemian Seascapes
"Bohemian Seascapes" opened in February. This show features images of my Bohemian wanderings in the Bahamas. All the images have been manipulated and show my idea of the Bahamas, not what my camera sees...Anyone is capable of taking good pictures of the beautiful beaches and seas...but this was not my intention with this show. I am showing fewer nudes, more sailing action, seascapes and skycapes.

| Sailing Portfolio. The Hope Town racing boat "The RAGE" has inspired me this newest series. This 24 ft traditional Bahamian Dinghy raced by the Hope Town Sailing Syndicate and skippered by Jeff Gale, races with 18 people onboard, with most of the crew sitting off the boat, on long narrow wooden pryes to balance the weight of the enornous sail. It is quite a sight and a great team effort to race such a beautiful wooden dinghy. i counted 6 second tacks! the boat has not engine and is towed to races by Nomad's Captain Randy who graciously invited me to chase the Rage during the Guana Cay Regatta on July 5th 2008. I created a series of dramatic images adding clouds and lowering the horizon to add drama. the seas has been kept as is and the effect is an inspiring series showing this amazing boat and its courageous crew perched high over the ocean, on a journey to somewhere away...
Portfolio de voile. Le voilier de course La RAGE est l'inspiration de cette nouvelle serie. Ce bateau traditionel des Bahamas de 24 pieds est le bateau du Syndicat de Voile de Hope Town, skipper Jeff Gale. Il faut 18 personnes a bord et la plupart de l'equipe est assise sur des planches de bois longues et etroites qui depassent du bateau, pour equilibrer le poid de l'enorme voile. C'est une vision extraordinaire et un effort d'equipe de taille. J'ai compte des maneuvres de 6 secondes. Le bateau n'a pas de moteur et doit etre remorque par le capitaine de NOMAD qui m'a gracieusement invitee a suivre la course de la RAGE pendant la regatte de Guana Cay, le 5 juillet 2008.. J'ai cree une serie d'images dramatiques avec des nuages, en abaissant l'horizon pour ajouter de l'effet. la mer est restee telle quelle, et le resultat est une serie d'images qui montre un bateau incroyable avec son equipe courageuse perchee haut sur l'ocean, embarquee pour un voyage lointain... |

Egyptian Portfolio . This is the portfolio shown at ARTFUSION GALLERY in Miami April-June 2008 for the show: SPECTRUM OF REINCARNATION. The nudes were shot before leaving for Egypt in 2004. The ancient temples then became frames for the models. I saw the expressive walls of ancient Egypt as the ideal complement of my studio work. The principal inspiration for this series came from John Alex, my Danish/ American model, shot in Colorado. Portfolio Egyptien. Ce portfolio est expose a la gallerie ARTFUSION a Miami Avril- Juin 2008 dans le cadre de l'exposition: spectrum de reincarnation. Les nus ont ete photographie avant de partir en Egypte en 2004. Les temples antiques sont ensuite devenus les cadres de mes mannequins. J’ai reconnu les murs expressifs des anciens Egyptiens comme le complement ideal de mes photos. L'inspiration principale de cette serie vient de John Alex, mon mannequin Danois Americain, photographie au Colorado.

Bahamas Portfolio This series is my latest work, shot in the Bahamas where I now live. The glorious sunrises and deserted pristine beaches remind me of the powers of the mythological gods who are still living around us in many forms.

Bahamian Myths.
The Lucayan Indians were the original Bahamians. Related to the Indian civilizations of the Andes, they had the misfortune to be captured by the Spanish Conquistadors who needed slave laborers for their mines. The low sand-banks and deep turquoise waters of the Bahamas still hold their spirit. My new series of images celebrates the rich nature of the islands and the spirit of some of the people here.
Les Indiens Lucayans etaient les Bahamiens originaux. Lointains cousins des civilizations des Andes, de Floride et d'Amerique centrale, ils ont eu la misfortune d'etre emprisonnes par les Conquistadors qui les ont envoyes dans leur mines d'or. Les sables et les eaux Turquoises des Bahamas ont conserve leurs esprits. Cette nouvelle serie d'images celebre la nature riche de ces iles et l'Esprit de ses peuples. |
